Ugh, today is not my day. Went into work for overtime as we've been busy(system upgrades and changes last weekend) It was busy, people were annoyed and even that wouldn't have been so bad if it wasn't for two callers.

First guy needed help with his enrollment, he had called yesterday but information was missing from our system so that had to be updated. A rep got a hold of who needs to do the updating and afterwards told the customer to try again today. Customer tried to do the enrollment but it didn't work so he called in again. I verified him and started doing the enrollment, he then got obsessed with why didn't the rep he speak with yesterday do the enrollment. Now I really don't know why the rep didn't enroll him(I think the rep could have) but as I'm not sure exactly which department he was speaking with and I don't know the details of the call I wasn't going to try and second-guess the actions of another employee. Which is what I told the customer although filtered through workspeak of "I can't really comment on a previous call as I don't have all the details" Remember what I said about obsessed? He just kept asking the same damn question of why the rep didn't enroll him and why was I giving him a hard time by not answering his question, and this went on for five minutes while he threatened to get a supervisor(I imediately offered to transfer him when he brought it up. he refused) He finally let me do the enrollment(while still saying he was going to get his answer from a supervisor, and i again offered to transfer him, he refused again saying he was going to call back) *headdesk*

Then came the scamming asshole. He called up saying he had been transfered to me by mistake and needed to be transfered to a telephone number which he gave him me and insisted I read it back to him to make sure I had it correctly(at this point warning bells are going off in my head as tycpically customers can't tell if they've reach the right department or not, and if he had the number why didn't he call it directly himself) SO I call and I get some spanish intro but there's nothing identifying it as chase so I disconnect that line and look in our phone directory and the number isn't there. SO I got back to the caller explaining that I can not identify the number as a Chase number and if he'll tell me the department he's looking for I'll get the correct number for him. He starts getting pissed calling me prejudiced because it had a spanish intro, I explain again that I could not identify the number as a chase number and he starts cussing calling me a "Stupid fucking bitch slut whore" I cut him off saying that he needs to stop or I'll disconnect the call, we end up going back and forth of him demanding I transfer him to the number and me saying it wasn't a valid chase number and asking for the department he needed. Finally he went off again calling me "Fucking bitch. I hope you fuck your mother with every bre....." and tht's where I disconnected. Damn stupid rule that we have to give a warning before disconnecting on abusive customers I so should have hung up on him during the first string of curses but couldn't because of that stupid ass rule.

So now I'm pissy and whiney(damn hormones+stress= RARGH) and seriously want to break something or have a pint of ice-cream for dinner(not going to, but I really really want to)


ETA. Well after a dinner of sushi and ice cream I feel much better, oh an Debbie the brandy beans are back in stores I picked up a box today.

Son of ETA: This Sunday I'm hitting Renfest again for the final day if anyone is interested in going with me let me know.

Meant to write about this caller last night but got distracted. Hopefully I can relay just how batshit crazy he was.

When I first answer the phone, I gave my name and the normal opening spiel. He asked what state I was in, which while annoying is fairly common as people like to know and have something ot confirm we're in the US. SO I let him know that the call center is in Houston, TX and he then asks for my home address. This actually threw me off because as insane as customers get I've never had one ask for my home address. SO I figure maybe he's looking for the contact center address, so I I try to make sure. He keeps repeating that he wants my home address(while constantly interupting me so I can barely get a full sentence out) until with a much aggreived sigh he says "So you're refusing to answer the question FINE!"

Then I get to actually find out what his problem is. Turns out he had made an online bill payment and it went out as a paper check, and he had actually overpayed the payee and so they sent the check back to him. He wants the money back into his account(understandable) and to do that we need to place a stop payment on the check. Also the checks sent out for online bill payment are official checks, they are gauranteed funds and by placing a stop payment on them we're removing that gaurantee. Because of that actually placing the stop requires a bit of hoop jumping on the bank's part and that has to be completed before a refund is given. Typically takes a total of 3-5 business days. A previous rep had already initiated the stop-pay but the customer apparently decided that he was going to throw a shit fit over the wait.

As I tried to explain that yes it takes this long for the money to go back and this is why, he again kept interupting me with these lovely gems "Oh don't give me that, 'the process' is garbarge" "Tell me why the money can't be in my account tomorrow, we both know that it should be" "the lovely "You're refusing to answer the question, why won't you answer" And my favorite "Yeah and 'the process' told Rosa Parks that she had to sit in the back of the bus because she was black" Words just fail me at how badshit he was. He then proceeded to call me garbage and when I warned him about behaviour, language and insulting me, he said "Fine disconnect on me Asshole" And that's when I hit the release call button.

Two seconds later, I get the asshole again! "Hi it's me again, you disconnected me. I'm the customer and you disconnected me!"

*headdesk* Later talking to my manager I find he's apparently gone through almost all of the online reps and acting the same way to wall of them, threatening to have one person fired. Can we get this guy evicted from the human race, because he clearly doesn't belong around people.

Oh next week is going to suck. I'm scheduled to Tier 3/online assist training starting wensday at 9am. My normal scheduled time is 2:15pm, so this is like asking a 9 to 5er to coming in at 4am. Going to suck so much. On the plus side I'll have greater access to do stuff, cause really I hate knowing what needs to be done, but not having access to do it, on the bad side, I'll be taking supervisor calls.

I got an email from my manager about the dress code. It is changing and being finalized right now. The only detail she could give is that jeans will only be allowed on friday, saturday, and sunday. It goes into effect on March 1st, so depending how quickly they put the final dress code out I'll have time to buy new clothes for it, but damnit I don't want to buy new clothes. We don't need a new dress code, customer don't see us, let us be comfy and casual.

Well yesterday was nice. Finished up training early and got to hit the mall. ^_^ Finally got We love Katamari, also reserved a copy of Shadow Hearts: From the New world. I am so looking forward to that game.

There's now a rumor going around work that they're going ot be changing the dress code(again) This time no jeans or t-shirts allowed period. The reason behind this is people who come in with jeans that are too low and things are showing that shouldn't. Of the logical thing would be to enforce the current dress code on the violators I hope this stays just a rumor as pretty much all I wear is jeans and a top and I don't feel like going out and buying new cloths to fit a different dress code.

Work is slowly getting better, it's still hell, but better then it was that first week on the floor. Also I'm getting a 5% increase because of the move to online banking. They have said we need to show proficiency before we will get it, but that when we do it will be apply retroactively to when we left class(long story short, normally this move would only be a 3% increase, but because of a management mistake we're getting 5%) Woot!

Had more dental work today. And I kinda want to know what was going through my dentist's head for this. Because she only did weak shot of the local anathestic and it kept wearing off, meaning more shots. Please for the love of God just numb me up, I would much prefer the "can't feel half of my face" to feeling little stabs in my gumline. *downs pain meds*

So I'm moving over to online banking, and I've have some of the worse training EVER! No access to any of the systems we're using. No training on some systems at all becuase it's supposedly going away in two weeks. No side-by-sides with experienced bankers to see how calls flow. And to make thing worse, last week they started "systems enhancements" to the website, and there's been many many technical issues because of it. So our call volume is crazy, and because they people on the phones me and the other trainies have been put on the phones. SO guess how my days have been? Come-one guess.

So far I'm planning to make a pitcher of margarita friday night. Maybe buy some ice-cream, rent some cheesy movies. Any of my friends in Houston interested in joining me?

Well I am finally moving over to online banking(one step closer to being an email banker) and am supposed to start taking calls tomorrow. Kinda nervous because the course was condensed and due to probably with the bank's website they didn't let us sit with people and observe, and a lot of this stuff we need to see in action to really get. At least I'm getting a 900$ raise from my normal performace review(and may also get another 5% increase for the move to online banking)

Finally got a refferal for my root canal, but now I'm stuck in training mon-fri for another week, so unless the guy has saturday hrs I won't be able to get in until the 12th(don't want to use any more of my sick time, I might need that for oral surgery to remove my wisdom teeth) And the temp filling in the bad tooth is starting to wear away, hoping it won't completely gone and exposing the nerve before I get to go in.

lj time is running, thankfully get paid on friday.

Not much going on, work still hasn't fixed my paycheck but I have enough in my savings that i'll be fine until it is fixed. Unfortunately my manager was out for a doctor's appointment today, but the section manager is aware of the situation(and apparently there's a lot of managers who didn't do what they were supposed to with the schedule change so HR is going nuts trying to fix it)

And looks like I made the right decision staying in on Memorial day as I am sick with a cold for the first time in years. Not bad but annoying and doesn't exactly make me want to go out.

Finished playing Shadow Hearts 2, watched both the good and the bad ending and went "what the FUCK!!" to both of them.

My manager fucked up my paycheck and now it's about 230.00 dollars short. I don't know what's going on in her head, but she just doesn't seem to get that I was supposed to start getting the 10% shift differential in March when I went to the 12:15 to 9pm shift. Hell at first she didn't even that I was supposed to be getting shift differential at all(as discussed here) She finally fixed it so I'll get it in the future and retro it from April 1 to now, but that still leaves me shorted for March. Add in I was counting at the reto pay counteracting them taking back the mistaken overtime leaving out the March shiff diff does a big blow to my budget for the next 3 weeks.

Me(confused but thinking she had called earlier and wanted to be escalated up) Did you need to speak with a supervisor? I'll be happy to transfer you if I may have some information on the situation.

CL: No I just want to speak with some-one else.

Me: (really confused) Just another customer service representive?

CL: Yes! Do you even know why I want you to transfer me?

Me: No.

CL; Not a clue huh. It's that stupid "excellent customer service" It's complete bull, your service if horrible and customer don't want to hear it. And you're not supposed to say it.

Me: I haven't recieve any orders not to say it.

CL: I guess I can't blame you if you haven't gottent he orders, but you're not supposed to say "excellent customer service" Just transfer me, listen in if you want I want to see what the other person says.

Me: (classified the lady as crazy, put her on hold and call up another rep to transfer her to. I warn CW about the lady and why she wanted transfered. he was a littled losted for words)

CW: (when she was connected) Hello, my name is CW. How are you doing this evening.

CL: (offended gasp) Transfer me to some-one else.

At this point I hung up laughing, but I didn't get to hear more about the lady from CW. Apparently she was offended by him asking how she was because "It's none of your business how I am" He transfered her again and I don't know what happened after that. I wonder how many reps she went through trying to find one who greeted her to her liking. I can understand being upset about a problem, and wanting to speak with a supervisor if you're unhappy with a reps resolution, but multiple transfers over polite greetings?

Last week I requested Sunday the 27th off, partly because of kamikaze-con this weekend, and later learned my grandfather was in town. As of the end of my shift on Friday. my request was still on a waiting list pending approval and my regularly schedule day off is saturday and no way to find out if I'm approved off except at a desk in the call center. So I don't know if i'm working Sunday or not, and I would prefer not to go in at 12:15 on sunday and find out then that I don't have to be there. >_< Since I have to drive past work to get anywhere I'm thinking of just running in really quick on my way to the con, checking and if it's still pending ask my manager or some-one for help because it's utterly stupid that I have to go in on my day off to see if my extra day off was approved.


Also did a quick run out to my parents for a brief visit with my grandpa, and show off my car. Hoping I get to see him again before he heads back to Ohio.

This was my last call of the night and it's a bad situation, but even the caller found it funny. Last week his car was stolen, he got it back right away but at the time didn't realize that he had a book of checks in the car which weren't there when he got the car back. And now his account is negative 1000$ because of the unauthorized checks that have been going through and bouncing. There wasn't much I could do except direct him to fraud management on monday. But he asked me who the checks were being written to, so I look at some photocopies of the checks and notice that the printed address had been scratched out and another one written in.

Me: Uhm sir, where are you located right now?
Him: I'm in Orlando FL, why?
Me: It looks like they've been writing their home address on the checks, it's in Clermont FL
Him: Yeah that's a suburd of Orlando. Damn, that's dumb.
Me: It also looks like they have their driver's liscense number on the checks
Him: Ok so monday just get some copies and turn them over to the police and speak with fraud
So think we can expect hearing about them on America's Dumbest Criminal soon?
Me: Yeah

I felt bad for the guy because his account is in a big mess, but OMFG those criminals were DUMB!!

Been a little busy, saturday I told my manager that I applied for an internet email banker position. She went kinda "oooh you'll be good for that. I have some connections over there I'll talk to them on monday" *crosses fingers* I really really want this position. No more having to listen to idiotic customers.

Bought some new comfy pillows and may need to watch for mattress sales(currently mattress is over 10 years old)

After went off to meet up with Jen so we could show off and celebrate our new cars, and watch videos. I finally got to get my cheesy kung fu movie craving satisfied with Shaolin Soccer and Kung Fu Hustle. Oh my god, the crack the pure unadulterated crack! *still laughing at the buddhist palm*

Me: Ok so you didn't receive the statement ending Oct 4th
Cust: No I got that one, uhm let me look *sound of rustling papers*
Me: Alright, so are you missing the statement for September?
Cust: I have that one too *more papers rustling*
Me: Ok, so what is the statement that you need?
Cust: I'm missing the one ending Nov 4th
*dead silence*
Me: Uhm sir. It's only Oct 29th
Cust Oh I'm sorry you're right. Completely My fault.
Me: Is there anything else I can help you with? Thank you for calling *****
