Jun. 1st, 2005 12:52 amNot much going on, work still hasn't fixed my paycheck but I have enough in my savings that i'll be fine until it is fixed. Unfortunately my manager was out for a doctor's appointment today, but the section manager is aware of the situation(and apparently there's a lot of managers who didn't do what they were supposed to with the schedule change so HR is going nuts trying to fix it)
And looks like I made the right decision staying in on Memorial day as I am sick with a cold for the first time in years. Not bad but annoying and doesn't exactly make me want to go out.
Finished playing Shadow Hearts 2, watched both the good and the bad ending and went "what the FUCK!!" to both of them.
Ok let's start with what that appears in both endings.
Karin is Yuri's MOM!!! Ok I'll admit I did not see that one coming and it makes some of the game kinda creepy. Nor am I really happy with them pairing up Anastasia and Kurando at the end. Throughout the game the pairing struck me as onesided plus the age difference Anastasia being 12 or 13 and Kurando being 16 or 17. Ok so it's not that big of the difference, but it seemed like Ana was a girl on her first crush, and Kurando seemed oblivious, or at the very least he did nothing to encourage it.
Now for the "good" ending. Yuri gets impaled on a rock spike(reminds me of the ending of BH) dies, meets his love Alice. Then we see him from 2 years ago about to get on the train where he meets Alice(the beginning of SH1) *blinks* WTH! He gets a second chance for his adventure with Alice and change how it ends. But if he changes how it ends, then how would the events of SH2 come about. Where he meets Karin and she ends up going back in time to become his mother. Or is he in a time loop, stuck to live the same adventure and lose the love of his life over and over and over again. Yeah I know I'm being geeky and overthinking it, but it leaves too many loose ends.
Now to the bad(and in the tradition of SH, the true ending)
The curse that was placed on him at the beginning of the game takes effect and he loses all of his memories(and supposedly his soul) Shows up in Wales 4 years after the final battle and gets taken in by Roger Bacon. Although this pretty much kills any chance of Yuri returning as a playable character in SH3 I think I can deal with it better, it's tidier than the good ending, and from the little we saw Yuri was still the Yuri we know(and I don't care what Rasputin said, there may be a way for Yuri's memories to return)
