ladydoujiWheeee Just got back from Yaoi-con and god I had soo much fun
Thursday flew into Oakland and got a ride to the hotel from Mako, met Cammie and Canned Arse. We didn't do much that first night. Met Winnie and Kirsten. And oooh Poor poor Brian he had to listen in many in-depth conversations about female problems over the weekend.
Friday: I vegged ALLLLL morning ^_^ Mako even brought me breakfast in bed ahh Yummy Frappacino and blueberry scone. We walked out to Japan town for lunch, found a place but me and Kirsten had to bug out right after ordering because we got hit with cramps. So we spent the afternoon bonding over shared pain. The Minkland table got set up and looked awesome.
Saturday: Dressed up in my belly-dancing outfit which went through many configurations that day. Found out I have a fangirl Silverblade Shi-chan who spent the rest of the weekend spoiling me with backrubs. ^_^ Met Mako's mom who is so unbelievably cool, she brought us food and was so much fun to just hand around with. There was Minkland the Gathering, which had many introductions, and worshipping, and went on the the Harry Potter slash people were ready to kill us for the room. Later went to the J-pop dance, and unfortunately saw a little of Secret, secret who were not that good.
Sunday: Not much left in the dealer's room so I wandered a bit, got glamped by another fangirl who's name i didn't catch(I am SOOO sorry whoever you are) Big thing for me was the Let's make a deal Raffle, which despited only having 10 tickets I won 3 things, A Yoko Matsushita art print, a gundam wong action figure of deathscythe, and a Snoopy dog plushie. I swear they much have gotten so sick of me walking up there for a prize.
Stuff that I got: Shonen Hump, the Minkland DJ Anthology, 2 ff7 djs, 1 gundam wing dj, 1 saiyuki dj, and a djs with GX and Escalowne, 2 gx lami cards, a Lodoss Parn pin, Generator Gawl manga, Cowboy Bebop graphic novels, and Raganok graphic novel, Minkland Yaoi t-shirt, and stickers.
Anime I saw, Angel Sanctuary- Very pretty but not very good. Mirage no Recca: caught the second ep but it looks good may have to get the series.
All and all I had a blast and hopefully I'll be able to do it all again next year.
Edit: And what the HELL I swear to god. Everytime I go to a con I come back and there's a flame war on at least one of the MLs I'm on. Ah well I'm not a mod on that list and have no desire to get involved.
