Finally got off my lazy ass and mailed off my voters registration card, and went through some of my old mail. Including a letter I got from one of my senators(who supports the federal discrimation marriage amendment) I think my brain melted when I got to this line "I further believe policy matters should be decided by elected representives in legistlatures and COngress, not by judges. So I will support a Consitutional Amendment, if necessary, to ensure states, including Texas, continue to have the ability to determine their own marraige laws"

Right as if legislatures and Congress have never made policy that violated the law and consitution and had to be torn down by judges. Not to mention the fact that a federal marriage amendent is basically saying States that choose to allow gay marriage can't because it would violate the Federal marraige laws. You can't have it both ways, either States can chose their marraige laws or they can't.

*heads off to find when Sen. Hutchison is up for re-election*
