ladydoujiI am beginning to like congress.org simply because it's makes it easy for me voice my opintions on various issues to the elected official in my district. Like changing this into Thanks to the decree of four judges in Massachusetts, marriage is being redefined to include any combination of people instead of the union of one man and one woman. Recognizing what many people say marriage has become over the last few centuries, an act of love between two people.
Starting this week, gay and lesbian couples are traveling to Massachusetts to obtain marriage licenses and then return to our states to file lawsuits and finally obtain equal protection under the law, and recognition their love and commitment
These events reinforce the traditional definition of marriage, as a commitment of love, not only for Massachusetts, but for the entire United States.
A Constitutional amendment defining marriage as the union of one man and one woman will stop these expressions of love. Stop the foundations of stability these brave people are attempting to build.
Such an amendant is in violation of Thomas Jefferson's ideal seperation of Church and State and allow others force their religious ideals and doctrine on others of different faiths.
I urge you to fight the marriage amendment today before it is too late.
