beads beads beads (take 2)
Feb. 23rd, 2004 12:18 amTried to post this earlier but for some reason it didn't take.
Went over to Blue's armed with energy drinks and kolaches to grab her and go down to Mardi Gras in Galveston. The trip down was pretty uneventful until we crossed the bridge and saw this great big plume of black smoke on the other side of the freeway. Then as we got closer we saw the raging fireball. Bit farther down we finally saw the firetrucks hauling ass to the fire.
Found parking just in time to see the children's parade. Caught some beads and boy do those things sting owowowowowie. Then ended up buying some prettier beads at a stall. and headed off for a poetry reading at the E street coffee haus. Good coffee and good poetry. Afterwards we hit the streets and found ourselves at a shop with masks. Uh-oh, we walked in and my wallet was in trouble. Ended up buying four masks for 'bout 15$ each(thank god they were on sale) Walked around some more than found a place for dinner.
