Irony, you can just bite my ass
Jan. 23rd, 2005 01:11 pmOk a while back I noticed my moniter getting a black line through the middle of the screen. It would go away if I turned the moniter off and then back on. However I took this as a sign of impending moniter death and when my mom asked what I wanted for christmas I said "new moniter please" She got me a nice refurbished 17" flatscreen moniter. A few days ago I went turned my computer on, turned the flatscreen moniter on and the screen came up for a second and then went black. Turned the moniter off and on. Same thing, up for a second and then black. Checked the cables, unhooked and re-hooked them. Same thing. Hooked the old moniter up and there's no problem. So I call compaq support, final diagnosis the flatscreen moniter went bad and I need a new one. WOuldn't be a problem if their systems did show the moniter being purchased in April and past the 90 day warrenty when in fact it was purchased in Dec 04 and is still well withing the warrenty period. So I need to photocopy the proof of purchase and shipping info(they need dates) to get them to update the info and send me a new moniter to replace the dead one. Thinking just take some digital photo, get them printed and faxed from kinkos and it should be ok. But just ugh at the entire situation
