Since I've gone over the cats that I've lost since I stopped posting on livejournal I guess now I can tell you about the cats that I've gained.

The current oldest is Honeycomb, a buff(pale orange) tabby girl. The pest control company my sister in law worked for got called to deal with some critters inside a house being prepped for rental. The found her trapped inside with no food, no water, and no litter box but a possum for company. The possum was trapped and released back outside. Honeycomb was taken in by my sister in law as a foster, given a bath and named Gingerella. Unfortunately she did not get a long with their resident cats or dogs and over time the stress started causing behavioral issues. So a month after Smudge disappeared they offered her to me to foster. I still hoped for Smudge to come home but also couldn't refuse. So I brought Honeycomb home, and at first I tried to keep the name but everytime I looked at her I just wanted to call her Honeycomb so I renamed her. She took one look at Rocky and fell in love and pestered him until he fell in love with her too.

The next is Regina. A sweet tabico. My townhome complex has a problem with people abandoning pets(especially cats) when they move out and we suspect Regina is one of them. A neighbor reported seeing a new cat roaming around. Friendlier than the majority of our local ferals. So one night while on break I went outside to look for her. I saw her in one of the little alleyways between buildings and she came running up to me for pets. I scooped her up and brought her inside. I took her to scan for a chip and she did not have one. I did my due diligence to see if she was simply lost but after a few weeks of no-one claiming her I did. She's extremely sweet, sadly she and Honeycomb do not like each other much.

Then there is Felix. He's a grey tabby polydactyl. He was born to one of the local feral cats who abandoned him with his placenta still attached. I managed to bottle raise him and then couldn't let him go. Regina also fell in love with this random tiny baby. One night she event kidnapped him out of his little nesting box while I was downstairs preparing his bottle. It turned out for the best as she was able to teach him how to be a cat. Year later and she still loves her baby and he still loves his mama.

And finally there is Brucie.A sweet perfect void. I got him while at CAP attempting to surrender one of the other other kittens found in our complex. CAP was full and there were two other women attempting to surrender a tiny black kitten. When they learned intake was close they threatened to toss him back out onto the street where they found him. So what could I do but say "Give the tiny void to me." The intake person did check both kittens out and turned out the void was too small to surrender anyway. So my plan was to just foster him for a week or two until he was big enough for CAP. But then realized he had ringworm and I couldn't introduce that to the shelter. And by the time he was clear of ringworm AND big enough for CAP he and Felix were bonded and I wasn't soulless enough to split them up.
