Hurricane Ike
Sep. 12th, 2008 01:10 pmJoining the other Houstonians in preparing for the storm. I've got plenty of food that requires no refrigeration or electricity to cook. Over 3 gallons of water in the freezer, space has been cleared in my downstairs closet for me and the cats, and fresh batteries have been placed into flashlights.
At work yesterday the original plan was business as usual(for Thursday and today, My dad was not impressed when I told him how late I was scheduled to be working on the 12th.) Then around 4 I was looking www.stormpulse.com my manager came over and checked it out over my shoulder, and then went running to the section manager. They apparently had a nice long argument with higher ups in corporate before finally announcing that we would be closed Friday and then until further notice.
And an apparent conversation that took place in my subconscious last night.
"hmm a hurricane's coming. What's the most useless thing I can do right now?"
"Bake cookies"
"Of course. BRILLIANT!"
Me: Hmm I have a desire to make cookies. ::checks kitchen:: Damn out of sugar, baking soda and raw eggs. T_T
Stay safe to all my friends in Houston.
