ladydoujiOk I've never been a big sub snob and in more recent times the dubbing quality in anime has gotten really good(Samurai 7 and the first Saiyuki series I can easily watch both the dub and the subs without any particular annoyance) So when dubs are decent or good, however when they're bad.
I got a volume of Saiyuki Reload Gunlock via Blockbuster online and put it on for background noise while working on projects for school. It was earbleedingly bad. The worst offense imo is the phony pretentious accent they gave to Hakkai. I guess they were trying to make him sound intelligent, or well educated but it sounded just so out of place. Maybe I just got used to the other English voice actors in Saiyuki season 1 and 2 and that's why these sounded so bad, or these actors just sucked. This is one series I'm probably gonna stick with my fansubs rather then buying the dvds.
