Merry belated Christmas everyone!
Dec. 26th, 2006 02:03 amSo I made up to Ohio with minimun incidents. Minor snafu at the airport due to mechanical issues with the plane(check engine light wasn't working so we were 40 minutes late taking off) And the entire time in the terminal we were treated to a kid screaming "NO MORE AIRPLANE!!!!! NO MORE AIRPLANE!!!!" Fortunately exhaustion knocked me out shortly after the plane took off. Landed, got luggage, Uncle Jim and I hit a mcdonald's for my first meal of the day and I then crashed for a good 12 hour sleep.
Christmas day was it's typical chaotis insanity of the Connell clan. I was and will for years be teased mercilessly over a comment I made about a shirt I recieved. Let me see if I can describe it adequetly for you. It's blue, sheer, crinkled polyester, button down with ruffles. At the waist there's a strip of lace and then a smooth peice of fabric. It made not be the most hidious piece of clothing I've ever seen, but it's still quite frightening. When asked if I liked it, in an effort to be polite, I said "it's interesting' Which of course my aunts and mother immediately picked up on as "I hate it" and started teasing me about the shirt, how they thought it was great and "so you" and on and on and on. Then, they made me try the damn thing on thinking I'ld like it once I saw it on. It did not help their case, especially when my Uncle Burt saw it and immediately referenced the 'puffy shirt' of Sinfeld fame and that all I needed was an eypatch to complete the pirate look. Fortunately I have the gift reciept and the tags are still on so it is getting exchanged first chance I get.
In good news I got Final Fantasy 3 for my nintendo DS. It's quite shiny and a lovely old-school rpg game for when you want a break for the current style games. So at least I'll be entertained for the rest of the trip.
Later today we're going up to see Grandma Adams, think i'm gonna leave the techno toys and the car and work on my cross-stitch there.
