Geekery at work.
Jul. 4th, 2006 02:52 amSo I was helping a customer today who had a password instead of his mother's maiden name on file. He spelled it out for me and I just looked at it and said "You're a gamer aren't you"
His response "YEAH! How did you know?"
Me "Uhm ::password, which was a game title in minor leetspeek spelling::
Him: Yeah that's right! That's my favorite game of all time. You're the first person to get that.
We chatted some more, I got his account taken care of, he was highly amused that I figured out what his password meant and that I knew leetspeak.
I love it when geeky shit happens at work(Like the guy I pegged for a Highlander fan from his userid and and email address, he also was amused that I knew where the names came from and that I could pronounce Methos)
