How in the HELL!!!!

ladydoujiThere is a wild bird currently flying around in my apartment. It's about 5-6 inches long, inch long beak, brown with white spots. I have no idea how it got in here. All my windows and my door were closed and locks. Only possible way is it came through the chimney. Carrie of course is going nuts(which is how I found out her chasing all over the upstairs woke me up. But now the question is how to get it back outside? It just keeps flying around in circles upstairs, and the only exit I can make is with the door downstairs.
Edit: The bird is out and flying free. One of the maintenece dudes came in and caught it in a pool net and took it outside. Though at first he didn't believe me when I said I had a bird flying around in my apartment, but by that point the bird had situated himself in one of my upstairs windows and was clearly visible from the outside. And he agreed with me that it came down the chimney.
