I'm hoooooooome!
Dec. 31st, 2007 12:13 amOk, I've been home since the 29th, but it took a while to recover from the trip.
Overall the trip was alright, my grandfather is doing well, but annoyingly persistent in trying to match my Uncle Jim up with some-one. He kept asking me if I had any single friends Jim's age. At first I simply told him no I had no friends Jim's age, but after a while when he kept asking me I blurted out that the one friend closest to Jim's age was engaged and the rest were lesbians(Sorry not to include you Jala, but I was just trying to get him to stop) Fortunately it worked.
Everyone else in the family are doing well, and the triplets are cute.
Christmas Day exchange was it's usual madness, fortunately Mom and Dad let me bust out one of my gifts early figuring I would be able to use it that day. hey were right, it was my big wishlist item from this year. Specifically I asked for a new camera as my current one was pretty old and I had trouble getting good pictures out of it. They gave me a Fujifilm finepic s5700. It's very shiny. I also got the Simpsons Movie, FF12 Revenant Wings, some pretty shirts(Aunt Jenny didn't pick them out this year YAY!), bath goodies, and a basket.
I also may have started a gifting war with my Aunt Jenny with the cross-stitch necklace of Michigan Wolverine colors. It was glorious though. She opened the box, oohed and aahhed over the necklace and put it on. Didn't pick up on the signifigance of the colors until my dad(who had been let in on the joke) went in and teased her about it. ^_^
Saw my Grandmother on the 26th. She's old and frail, but still able to live by herself and be self sufficient. I'm just glad that she liked the shawl I gave her and hope she'll be able to use it.
Thursday and Friday I didn't do much, just a quick visit with Sue(friend of the family) and her monster of a dog(German Shepherd who grew much bigger then advertised) And slept for most of Friday(my sleep patterns are really screwed up) Friday night I couldn't sleep at all as the guest bed in my Grandpa's house was just too hard and painful, plus the pillows are old and nasty and set off my sinuses. The result was a perfectly miserable flight from Columbus to Houston. I got home around 3pm on the 29th, and held off sleep as I reacquainted myself with my kitties and tried to getmyself organized(HAH! Still haven't unpacked from the trip) But finally crawled into my soft soft bed of Awesomeness and went dead asleep.
Sunday I went out ot my parents for Christmas exchange, everyone liked their gifts from me (YAY!) I now have a couch, fortunately leather(or faux leather one) so it'll be easier to get cat hair off of it) and a new printer. Also got Robin Hood: Men in Tights on DVD. SWEET! One of my favorite movies that I haven't been able to find when I went looking for it. SO I am pleased. Tired now and going to bed. Thinking of calling off work the 31st and 1st(yeah I'm bad) but starting to feel sick so may be necessary See how I feel when I wake up.
I also got to try out the game Assassin's Creed on my Uncle Jim's xbox. Game so shiny must have(and fortunately I've found out that it's coming out on the DS so I don't have to buy an expensive new console quite yet)
