Renfest 2005
Nov. 19th, 2005 10:57 pmIt's the last weekend so today I headed out to the Texas Rennaisance Festival. It was extremely crowded today despite the chilly and gloomy weather I couldn't even look at some shops there were just too many people. But I did have fun walking around and into the store I could get into. And since it's the last weekend the shops were having discounts as well as giving away things. In the Magic Wand shop I was looking at some of the wands when the sales clerk went "Psst Mi'lady" I turn around and she's offering me one of the little brass bubbles wands they sell telling me I could have it. I was a little surprised, but I took it and had a good time blowing bubbles. I did end up going back and buying one of their wood magic wands later in the day.
I got my yearly crystal wrap necklace from Crystal Mountain mmm Morgan le Fey one of the few blended scents I like. And caught the Christoff Professional Insulter show. That man is mean and he is funny, and made me very glad that I wasn't with any of my friends.
There were a lot of lovely costumes(including a woman in a lovely furisdoe) and I was really made at myself for not remembering my camera, and that I didn't dress-up(thinking it would be too cold for the outfits I have) Cons and Renfest are just more fun in costume. Oh well there's always next year, and maybe by then I'll have my furisode all stitched together.
I wandered around some more and then finally got a mask from Mask Parade, I've only been drooling over their masks for the past 7 years now, I think it's past time I finally get one. I got a purple troubador mask and surprisinly it fit over my glasses and I was actually able to wear it out. By then it was getting dark, but I still wandered around, got some chocolate covered strawberries to snack on. Mmmm the chocolate was still warm and then went and got a lovely hand and foot massage while the fireworks were going off.
While the massage was lovely waiting to leave until after the fireworks was a mistake. It took me over an hour to get out of the parking lot. It was completely rediculous. Never again I will never wait for the fireworks to leave Renfest again.
Finally got home, ate some real food and took a hot bath, and now i'm extremely tired and sore and ready to pass out for many hours.
