Aug. 28th, 2003 08:12 pmThere is nothing that will destroy your faith in humanity than working customer service. Especially people like this one woman who I had the most distinct displeasure to get not once but TWICE today.
Her "problem" was she didn't recive her canceled checks with her statement. Common enough due to an idiotic banking decision to convert people over to check imaging. Notices about the change were included in statements beginning in nov 2002 with instructions to call and tell us if they didn't want to be converted. Unfortunately for us poor customer service slobs too many people don't read all of their statement and didn't know. Some people are actually happy with the switch, others want to go back to the checks. Then there are people like this woman.
She had recieved her statement on the 25th sans canceled checks. SHe proceeded to call and scream at reps. She demands to know who gave chase the right to do this(she did when she opened the account there's a clause saying we can change the terms of her acct, and we will notify her of such changes) The rep did what she should and requested that the woman get her checks again AND requested photocopies in large print fo all of the ladies checks. You'ld think that the problem was solved but noooooooooooooo. This lady continues to call, many times a day to do nothing but scream at representives. Hurling, insults, curses and racial slurs. In case you're wondering rep disconnect her a lot. We are in no way required to put up with that. But she kept calling back. FOr THREE days she calls and she calls. We try being polite we try being patient, and all we get from her is more incoherent screaming. and I got her twice. Screaming insults at me demanding some-one who can understand "basic english: Well bitch we all understand english, we just have trouble understanding a raving lunatic who's screaming at us. Second time I got her she ranted about our menue recording with an option to hear it in spanish. "I AM AN AMERICAN! NOT SPANISH I DON"T WANT TO HEAR IT. I CAN'T PRESS ANY BUTTON I HAVE A ROTARY PHONE. AND I WANT MY CHECKS BACK. YOU SENT ME THESE LITTLE COPIES AND I CAN'T READ THEM. I'M BLIND!!!"
yep that's right folks she's blind so it doesn't really matter what we send her. she can't read them. But she's still on the phone screeching away. How utterly pathetic must her life be if she has the time and energy to spend it dumping abuse on people who have done nothing to deserve it. Thank god I'm on vacation for the weekend or else I might just snap.
