Isn't it odd. . .
Aug. 27th, 2002 08:04 pmthe wierd little things that upset us big time? Way back when I was a kid I had a horrible speech impediment. I got teased horribly by the other kids, and spent years going through therapy to correct it. Even today I still have the remnants of it though to most is simply sounds like an accent. Today at work a woman called in with a horrible heavy accent. I had a hard time understanding her and she seemed to be insulted that I didn't know a person who worked in a branch and then all of a sudden said "You need to get some-one to teah you to talk" and "You don't speak good English" I swear to God I saw I saw red at the moment. I had spent time and effort improving my speech and this unintelligible woman dared to tell me I couldn't speak correctly. Yeah I know it bothered me more than it should have, but it hurt.
