So I survived the week of assist training and started taking calls in development center. So far so good, no truly irate callers(or they're just behaving because I'm now a "supervisor") I have been warned that on most days(but especially weekends) you can have 10-20 minutes between calls, which is a okay with me.

Friday I didn't do much except veg and level grind in Persona 4, today however I got to get my geek on with Free Comic Book Day and Comicpalooza at the Memorial City Mall, Madameblue. Now comicpalooza was small(what can you expect from a convention in a mall) but there were some good artists in the artist alley and cheap comics in the dealers room. I got a sketchbook from Jerry Rascoe which included a sketch of my choosing on the back. I picked Robin number 3(Tim Drake) and the sketch came out pretty awesome. And got to pick up a bunch of comics for 50 cents each.

Then we hit the Wolverine movie(hey it was appropiate for the day) And I'm not getting some of the poor reviews I've seen tossed about. No it's not the OMG best superhero movie ever made, but it was fun and enjoyable. My biggest complaint was the alley fight between Gambit, Wolverine and Sabertooth, and spoilers go under the cut

Ok, so Gambit attacks Wolverine, thinking he's there to drag Gambit back to the Island where he had been held prisoner and experimented on for 2 years. Fair enough assumption and action. Gambit, knocks Wolverine through a wall and into an alley, where Sabertooth has just finished killing Wolverine's ally. Wolverine is standing getting ready to confront him. Gambit follows him into the alley and tries to be a bad-ass, completely ignoring Sabertooth. Sabertooth, the man who helped run the Island, the man who tracked down and captured mutants and took them to the Island, one of the men Gambit hates most in the world. Wolverine shuts him up with an elbow to the face(apparently knocking him out briefly seeing how he went down,) and he and Sabertooth fight. Gambit then comes back(doing a cool run across the rooftops before jumping down to attack, although I have no clue why he was up on the roof when previously he was knocked out in the alley the fight didn't seem to take the two very far) and AGAIN ignored Sabertooth to attack Wolverine. I could buy the initial attack, but the second? What was the thought process there? Hmm some-one I don't know is trying to kill a guy I hate and wish I strong enough to kill, guess I better attack him? I don't get it. It was probably supposed to be following rule of cool and i'm not supposed to think about it, but damn I could not get why Gambit was being so stupid in that scene.

"AGAIN ignored Sabertooth to attack Wolverine."

Yeah makes no sense whatsoever, just cause Wolverine is the star of the movie and refuses to share the spotlight with Gambit.

lol. Movie definatly needed more Gambit, although the shirtless and nude shots of Hugh Jackman were worth the price of admission.
