Boredboredboredboredboredbored!
Aug. 31st, 2008 03:18 pmWork is extremely slow today so I'm going to take the time to post about all the things I've been meaning to share.
Decided once again to try and lose weight. Main focus is of course watching what I eat and trying to make healthier chioces and working-out. My workout right now isn't really focused or planned out. It's just pop in a dvd, get off my ass and MOVE! for about 20-30 minutes. I'm using a balance ball and hand weights. In someways I know it's having an effect as it's taking longer for me to feel like I've had a workout, and had to buy new handweights as the old ones felt too light to be of any use. And at work 3 people have commented that it looks like I've lost a lot of weight. However, based on the scale and how my clothes are fitting I haven't noticed that much of a change. Hope I can keep up the incentive to keep at it and not quit because I'm disappointed at my(perceived) lack of results.
First week of school is over with. I'm taking Type Design; Study, Practices and History. It's a studio art class and looks like it's going to be very interesting and may possibly kick my ass later on, but still a good experience. And taking 20th Century Design as an art history which will either complete my art history minor, or fulfilled a requirement if I switch to an AH major. Nice thing about both classes, no books to buy. The 20th Century design class, is different from other AH classes I've taken as the teacher doesn't want us to memorize specific pieces with dates etc. . . What she wants us to focus on is the various meanings and relationships certain trends had with the developement and changes in art. It's odd and hard to describe, but here's to hoping it turns out fun.
I haven't posted a lot about my various dolls because I know most of you aren't interested, but I'm just to pleased with some of the recent face-ups(painting) that I've done on two of them, that I want to share.

Marron(initially based off of Marron in Sorcerer Hunters, but the character has kinda morphed through various RPs)

Lamont. Original character, created because I fell hard for the elf shiwoo mold from Luts, and slowly an idea for vamp twins formed in my head. The lighting sucks in this picture but haven't had time to get better shots.
Why I'm happy with the looks, one of the hardest things for me to do was getting those fine delicate lines on the lips, eyelashes and eyebrows. Often limes ending up with lines that are clunky. Recently I got these superfine Arteje 100/0 brushes and oh wow are they awesome. They make me want to wipe my other two dolls and repaint them.
I think I'm done with my rambling. Hope everyone has a fun, safe Labor Day holiday.
