Mar. 31st, 2006 06:51 pmBecause there were a lot of things I needed to do today and because I wanted to get an early start on them(i'ld find a way to justify not doing them otherwise) I stayed up all night and was actually out of the house by 8am.
First stop was the tax collectors office to pay my vehicle registration(which expired last month *face palm* I thought it expired today) And was unable to find the vehicle registration letter such a wonderful start to the day. I had hoped to get there early enough to avoid long lines. No such luck, thank god I had my mp3 player and a book with me.
Finally get to pay and go on my way to a large library downtown to do research on a paper that's due soon. Unfortunately that library is closing and so they had nothing so I headed off to U of H to take advantage of their library.
I get there and I am now approaching hr 25 without sleep and desperatly need caffiene. As I search for a parking space at UH I got pulled over by campus police. Apparently although I thought I had fully stopped at stop sign I hadn't. Luckily the guy only gave me a warning but at this point I'm almost ready to call the day a crapshoot and go home. Seriously someday just won't go right if you pay them.
I find a parking spot and then hoof it to the campus starbucks. Oh sweet sweet Mocha Frappacino with espresso shot how I love thee. Get to the library and suck the sweet nectar of life down before going in. Look up some potential books and head off to find them. Totally random thought: You could probably stage a survival horror game in MD anderson Library. I think what triggered this thought is that different wings of the library have differnt numbers of floors and the elevators for the different wings are all color coded (red elevators, blue elevators and brown elevators) Picture you having to fight hordes of people and monsters zombified by tv and you fight by throwing books at them. Different zombies are affected by different types of books (fiction, non-fiction and then broken down further like genre and subject) And you fight boss batles to unlock and access different elevators. Ahh sleep deprivation I wonder if that's the real cause of some cracked out game ideas. Nah probably just crack.
Find books, copy pages that will be useful start to head home. Debate about anotehr starbucks drink but decide against the calories and instead get a sugar-free Vault(new drink from Coca-cola company) which I guess is sopoosed to be something between a regular soda and an energy drink. I was not impressed do not bother with it.
I then hit best buy, as a moniter I was looking at last week on my shopping trip with Blue was onsale for 50 dollars off. And Sweet! they have an "open item" of the one I wanted and since open items sell for 10% off the current price I got it for 225$ A nice 19" flat panel moniter. Came home and took a little 3 hour nap and now realize it's been 12 hours since I've last eaten and I'm hungry. Off to get some real energy drinks and some food.
